Thank You Terry and Kelly, and a hearty Congratulations!

A few words from our CEO, Kent Bakke:

I would like to give a formal and sincere tribute to Terry Z (as he is most famously know) for all the contributions that he has made to our world of espresso coffee. Terry has been a long time creative energy in providing leadership, innovation, passion and invention. His company, Espresso Parts, has been a valuable source for exotic, custom espresso machine creations, spare parts, coffee expertise and an often driving force in supporting a myriad of coffee activities. I would be remiss without also acknowledging is dear partner and wife, Kelly. Together they created a special place and special family in Espresso Parts. On behalf of many of us in the industry, Thank You Terry and Kelly and a hearty Congratulations! I am proud to be counted among your many friends.”

My best, Kent Bakke

TNTNW, Zoka Coffee

Thursday, December 29th Zoka Coffee House

The warm brown of Zoka Coffee & Tea – Tangletown, along with the simple glow of 3 group Linea, set a brilliant stage for the hours to come. Live DJ, super inviting barista’s, serious (sometimes silly) judges, a pretty gnarly supply of dairy and espresso moved the night along very quickly. Read more…

Intelligentsia Videos

Department of the 4th Dimension (from someone in the 4th dimension I suppose) has decided to enter our dimension in search of the “ultimate tastemakers” (in their words). Wouldn’t that mean the 4th dimension is pretty tasteless then?

Their journey begins with three videos on Intelligentsia in Venice, CA. Uber barista Kyle Glanville stars in this black & white mini-series opposite of their Espresso Partsrestored and souped up vintage La Marzocco GS/2. The docudrama cinematography combined with onscreen charisma oozing from Kyle will sure to make all the lady baristas from around the country gush.

Serrano Social Club GS/2

Tony’s christening the new Serrano Social Club GS/2 (with a mini bottle of Maker’s Mark)

SCAA last week marked the first time Tony’s new restored and souped up GS/2 was shown to the world (and to Tony). A creation of Espresso Parts’ customization arm, the GS/2 sports a gold-bronze color finish and a fully functional, old school variable pressure brewing mechanism. Best of all, it features a fancy tiara, right up Tony’s alley.

The “Serrano Social Club” tiara on the GS/2

This machine will be featured in Tony’s new cafe in Modesto, CA, opening sometime later this year (?).
