Meet the Linea Mini

Since the launch of La Marzocco Home in November 2014, weve seen an incredible response to the idea of creating café-quality espresso drinks at home. Today, we are excited to announce the newest addition to the La Marzocco Home line up: the La Marzocco Linea Mini.

The design of the Linea Mini is based on the iconic La Marzocco Linea Classic. Loved by thousands of professional baristas, the Linea Classic truly helped launch the specialty coffee movement of the early 1990s, and inspire the third wave coffee movement in the early 2000s. It continues to be one of our best-selling commercial espresso machines, and is familiar to coffee professionals and coffee enthusiasts around the world. With the Linea Mini, we hope to help espresso enthusiasts create an espresso revolution in their own kitchens.

All of the details of this new addition can be found over at La Marzocco Home, where, beginning today, US customers may preorder the Linea Mini. Deliveries will begin in late spring.

The Linea Mini will be on display in the La Marzocco Home Experience at SCAA Expo in Seattle April 9 – 12. Be sure to come by and pull a shot on the newest La Marzocco espresso machine—we cant wait to share it with you!

Roaster Showcase: Elm Coffee Roasters

Please join us March 20 at 10:30 AM as we welcome one of Seattle’s newest roaster/retailers, Elm Coffee. They will be showcasing their coffee in our Lab in Seattle.

We, along with the Seattle coffee community, have looked forward to welcoming Elm Coffee. Since summer 2014 and leading up to their opening, they had been very active on Instagram and in the news, so we were excited to hear that they had opened their doors and were going strong.

Brendan Mullally, owner of Elm Coffe, and Drew Fitchette, lead roaster, both have years of experience in coffee; Brendan as a barista and retail manager in NY with Joe Coffee, and Drew as a roaster with Stumptown Coffee and a green coffee importer for Onyx Coffee.  Together they have created a welcoming space with great customer service and delicious coffee: sourced, roasted and prepared with excellent quality and attention to detail.

We are happy to celebrate their opening, and welcome them to Seattle.  Join us:

Friday, March 20 from 10:30AM – 12:30PM.

La Marzocco, 1553 NW Ballard Way, Seattle, WA 98107.

Toronto: Pizza, Beer, and Pressure Profiling

Join us in Toronto, Ontario at Pilot Coffee Roasters’ roasting facility and tasting room on March 18, from 6 to 10 PM. We will be sharing beer, pizza, and of course, espresso! Our own Ryan Willbur will be there to present a talk that will include an overview of pressure profiling, an introduction to the newly released La Marzocco profile editor, and what we have learned since the Strada was introduced in 2010.

We will have a Strada EP on the bar, and we welcome you to come by and try the machine. Additionally, we will also have a Linea PB, which will be demoed by La Marzocco staff.

We are excited to share this time with anyone and everyone who loves coffee. Whether you are a professional barista who uses the Strada EP every day, or an enthusiast who just loves espresso, we hope you can join us for some exciting coffee talk.

Marco Distribution Transition: Welcome, Marco!

Today we’re pleased to extend a warm welcome our good friends at Marco as they spin up US-based operations.

La Marzocco USA has been the exclusive distributor of Marco products in the US since 2010, when the two companies came together to serve a common customer: specialty coffee companies in the US seeking the finest equipment to help showcase their coffees. Marco’s tradition of excellence in precision hot water delivery systems has offered an excellent complement to La Marzocco USA’s lineup of premium commercial espresso machines and grinders.

At the time our partnership was formed, both La Marzocco and Marco acknowledged that at some future point, it could make sense for Marco to establish their own presence in the US – in order to engage a broader set of customers than La Marzocco currently engages (extending to the tea category and other categories that have a need for precision hot water), offer a wider range of products, and to dedicate more focus and resources to building the Marco brand in the US.

We’re excited that time has come. Beginning today, Marco is establishing an office in the US to do just that: to sell and support US-based Marco customers. This is exciting news for all involved: for La Marzocco, for Marco, and most importantly, for our customers.

The Seattle-based team will serve the US market, and is comprised of a new sales manager, Anasasia Chovan, previously of UNIC, Coffee Equipment Company, and Espresso Specialists, Inc, among other specialty coffee roles; and a new customer support manager, Roger Wittmann, previously of La Marzocco USA, Bonavita, Coffee Equipment Company, and Espresso Specialists, Inc. We’re thrilled that Marco has brought on such a strong team, made up of people who we’ve worked with in the past.

Welcome Marco, and best of luck as you begin!
